Barrafina, tam anlamıyla “küçücük, fıçıcık içi dolu turşucuk” bir restoran. Harika bir yer. İspanyol ve Bask mutfağından tapas, tüm süreci izleyebileceğiniz şekilde uzun bir tezgahta gözlerinizin önünde hazırlanıyor. Porsiyonlar tıpkı restoranın kendisi gibi minik ve sevimli. Servis hızlı. Bütün mutfak ekibi İspanyol şeflerden oluşmuş durumda. Bunun en eğlenceli kısmı sürekli olarak birbirlerine İspanyolca bağıran şefleri izlemek elbette! Ne zaman gitsem Barrafina hep tıklım tıklım dolu oluyor. Rezervasyon kabul etmiyorlar o nedenle dışarıda uzun bir kuyruk görürseniz şaşırmayın. Sabırlı olun ve bence o kuyruğu bekleyin. Kesinlikle abartmıyorum; pişman olmayacaksınız!

Burası oldukça değişik bir alan. Aslında bir otopark fakat en üstteki üç katı bir çatı barı ve restoranına dönüştürmüşler. Açık havada olmanın keyfini yaşarken aynı zamanda oyunlar oynayabiliyorsunuz; hokey, buz pateni hatta kroket! Eğlenceli ve rahat bir ortam. Yiyeceklerinizi tıpkı bir sokaktaymış gibi minibüsten alabilirsiniz. Öylece elinizde yiyerek dolaşmanız mümkün. Özellikle yaz aylarında mutlaka uğrayın, güzel havaları kaçırırsanız Skylight’ı da kaçırırsınız!

Londra’da birkaç farklı noktada Ivy mevcut fakat ben en çok King’s Road’takini seviyorum. Buraya gelenler gerçekten çok “cool”. Benim için özellikle “Bütün gün yemeliyim” dediğim pazar brunch’ları için vazgeçilmez. Güzel havalarda dışarıda bir masa edinmeye bakın. Yalnız çok kalabalıktır, mutlaka önceden rezervasyonunuzu yaptırın.

Pardon, acaba biri “Şampanya istiyorum” mu dedi? Evet, bu muhteşem restoran kristal kadehinizde sona yaklaştığınızda çalabileceğiniz bir zile sahip. Abra kadabra! İşte yeniden şampanyayla dolu bir kadehe sahipsiniz. Rus izleri taşıyan bu mekan gerçekten işinin ehli. İstiridyeler ve havyar inanılmaz taze. Steak tartar uğruna ölünebilecek kadar güzel. Son bir tüyo daha vereyim; restoranın birçok odası var benim favorim kırmızı olan. Deneyin, bayılacaksınız!

Hamur işlerini görmeyi bile seviyorum, tatmayı zaten çok seviyorum. Burada otuz farklı taze ekmek ve müthiş bir özenle dekore edilmiş harika unlu mamuller bulabilirsiniz. Vitrinini gördüğünüz anda zaten kapıya yöneleceksiniz emin olun. Son derece zarif bir biçimde yapılmış kek ve pastalar sizde bir sanat eserine bakıyormuşsunuz hissi uyandıracak. Antep fıstıklı güllü kek diyorum, başka da bir şey demiyorum!

En baştan belirteyim rezervasyon şart çünkü restoran küçük ve her daim kalabalık. Üst kattaki bara oturmanızı ve ustaları seyrederek yemenizi öneririm. Birbirinden enfes birçok seçeneğiniz olacak. Suşi, mükemmel. Yapılışını seyretmek ayrıca mükemmel. Miso glazeli patlıcan yemeden dönmeyin. Yazarken bile tadacağınız için sizi kıskanmış durumdayım!

Bu küçük, şık restoran olağanüstü bir atmosfere ve fantastik yiyeceklere sahip. Arkadaki piyano sesleri ve dekorasyondaki Fransız dokunuşları ruhunuza çok iyi gelecek. Her daim dolu küçük masalarında, yanınızda kimin oturduğuna bazen şaşıracaksınız. SoHo House ailesinin bir parçası burası, diğer her parçasında olduğu gibi mükemmellikten asla taviz vermiyor.

This is one amazing little resturant.  Emphasis on the little.  It serves Spanish and Basque tapaz at a long counter where you can watch all the action taking place.  The dishes are small, and the service is fast.  The entire kitchen staff is made up of Spanish chefs so its very fun to hear them shouting out in Spanish.  It is packed and they dont take reservations, so dont be suprized if there is a line outside the door.  Be patient and when I tell you that you won’t be dissapointed I am not exagerating.+44 20 7440 1456

SkyLight

This is a very interesting venue.  Its actually a car park where the top three floors are transformed into a rooftop bar and restaurant concept where you can play games and just enjoy being outside.  It has a very fun, casual vibe and the street car food is fun to sample and just eat standing.  This is a summer time event and will be gone as the good weather leaves.

Burger and Lobster

A classic for me when in London.  It maybe that I love Lobster and Burgers and who ever thought that combining the two had a great idea and has my complete support.  This is a great spot to stop off for lunch and major pig out.  If you are anything like me, all the walking, shopping and people watching makes me hungry.  This is where I get my game on!

Ivy Chelsea Garden

Ivy has a few different locations in London, but my favorite is on Kings Road.  The clientele is very cool, and I have to say I think it’s my favorite Sunday let’s eat all day brunch spot.  If the weather is good, try to get a table outside.  It is very busy, so it is highly advised that you have a reservation.

Did someone say Champaign on demand!!!  Yes, the is amazing restaurant has a bell you ring whenever you reach the bottom of your crystal flute and magically its full again.  This Russian inspired restaurant is the real deal.  The oysters and caviar are extremely fresh, and the steak tartar is to die for.  There are several rooms my favorite is the red room!

I love seeing beautifully baked goods.  30 different types of freshly baked bread pair with delicately decorated pastries. The window of Gail’s literally brings you straight in the door.  The understated yet artistically decorated cakes and pastries are just delicious.  There are several locations popping up all over London.  Get the pistachio rose cake.  OMG!

This man and his amazing truffles are so good that it is impossible to eat one.  They are so extreme it takes time to recover.  I am so in love with his chocolate that he has inspired me to try to make my own.  That is how good they are! Buy a mixed selection and don’t share them….

Ok if you love British culture and want to experience its height then get on the phone and book a table for high tea at the Ritz Carlton.  Then start to put your outfit together.  When I said British culture I meant it, the hats and dresses all of it.  The men must wear a tie and jacket and jeans or sneakers are not accepted.  You will feel like royalty. Plus they have great music and really good tea and biscuits!

This is my spot in Covent Garden.  Its old its classic and it is always amazing.  I really like to catch a late breakfast here.  Eggs Benedict, mimosas and lots of great flower arrangements.  If you are a lunch or dinner person, please get the seafood tower and think of me.

So, you have been shopping in Harrods and the hunger has set in.  You have lots of in-house options but this Thai bar with the best dim sum bar in the possibly the whole world is located in the food hall on the bottom floor.  It has some of the best dim sum I have ever had.  If Thai food is on your top cuisine list don’t miss out on the award-winning spot right in the middle of the greatest shopping in the world.

Jason Atherton’s Modern British restaurant in Ian Schrager’s London Edition Hotel is not your average restaurant.  This is a place to celebrate.  It is everything special.  The atmosphere, the food, the service.  If you are looking for an elegant place to spend an evening this is the place.

Dinings SW3

I absolutely adore this restaurant.  I am a bit of an Asian food maniac but this tops for some of the best I have ever had.  It is small and extremely busy reservations are a must.  The bar upstairs is full of lots of glamorous types and my suggestion is to eat at the bar and watch the masters at work.  The sushi is perfect and watching the chefs carve and roll the fish into these mouthwatering morsels is mesmerizing.  Order the miso glazed eggplant.  I’m jealous just thinking about it!

Chiltrin Fire House

If you are on the South bank and have been visiting some museums and your stomach is saying get food find this cool spot.  I love the concept where you self-serve everything.  Chic cafeteria!  They give you a credit card upon entry and you give this to the chefs that are cooking fresh pasta, pizza, antipasti and dessert along the bar.  The food is delicious.  I think this may become a trend worth going with.  Relaxed, fast, healthy, fresh and delicious food.

This beautiful bar in the Mayfair area is one that has some of the most eclectic drinks I have ever seen.  The music is amazing and its open until 4 am so feel free to stay up late it will be worth every minute.

This energy charged Latin restaurant with a live dj is the perfect place to go out and dance and have fun with your friends.  This is the one stop for fun.  Eat, drink, dance, done!  You will love the food as it is a mostly Mexican and South American menu, the drinks will not disappoint, and you may get to listen to some of the hottest DJ’s in the world.

Kettner’s Townhouse

This elegant little restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and fantastic food.  I love the piano playing in the background and the French decor really is relaxing.  The low lit small tables will all be full and the you many very surprised at who is sitting right next to you.  It is part of the SoHo House family and it is every bit a piece of perfection as the rest of the franchise.
